Acceptable Use and Privacy Policy

SciencEngines has formulated this Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") in order to encourage the responsible use by authors and users ("USERS") of World Science and other SciencEngines products. Our intent is to provide the most accurate, effective, reliable and secure services to our clients. Through their use of World Science, USERS consent to adhere to the terms of this AUP. SciencEngienes reserves the right to modify this AUP at its discretion at any time. These modifications will be effective when posted. Content: SciencEngines accepts no responsibility for any data, images, text and other material created or accessible on or through World Science. SciencEngines has established extensive policies and procedures to guarantee high quality content in World Science. Author and review policies are aimed at preventing inappropriate content from entering World Science. SciencEngines regularly audits the content and use of World Science to identify problems. Information provided by World Science is meant to be a dialog between professionals and does not prescribe any treatment.

It is the responsibility of any USER submitting information to World Science to insure that the information adheres to the highest publication standards. In particular, SciencEngines agrees with the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). See http://www.icmje.org/urm_main.html. We are currently exploring registration with the ICMJE.

The USER is also responsible for the appropriate clearances and permissions for copyrighted, trademarked materials or the intellectual property of others. He or she is also responsible for obtaining the relevant clearances from his or her institutional review board or other agency. The USER is also responsible for assuring that the material does not violate any law, regulation or best practice including HIPPA and other relevant laws.

USERs shall not enter information that is false or misleading. USERs shall not use World Science to commercially promote products, treatments, entities, or organizations.

If SciencEngines becomes aware of any World Science content or behavior that may violate this AUP, SciencEngines will investigate and, if the violation is found to be inappropriate, the content will be removed from World Science. A USER posting the offending content may be subject to sanctions as identified below.

USER Behavior: USERs shall not use World Science in order to transmit, distribute or store material: (a) in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including export or encryption laws or regulations; (b) that may adversely affect the operation of World Science; or (c) that may cause harm to another USER or the public; or (c) may expose SciencEngines to criminal or civil liability.

Users shall not use the World Science or information provided through World Science to transmit unsolicited e-mail messages, including unsolicited bulk email , particularly where such emails could reasonably be expected to provoke complaints ("spam").

Sanctions: A USER who violates any specification of this AUP may be subject to a suspension or termination of access to World Science. SciencEngines will cooperate with legal authorities in the investigation of alleged wrongdoing, including disclosing the identity of any USER that SciencEngines identifies as responsible for the wrongdoing.

SciencEngines and its Board will serve as the ultimate determiner of compliance with this AUP.

Privacy

SciencEngines employs state-of-the-art techniques and technologies to protect the identities of its users. In the normal course of publication within a SciencEngine product or service, name, email and other contact information is provided by the user for contact. This information is to be used by other SciencEngines users for contact purposes only. SciencEngines does not divulge personal identification data to third parties. We will comply with court orders and other lawful directives to provide data.

At all times, each user has access to the personal information profile which he or she provided.

SciencEngines products and services provide links to other organizations. A link does not constitute an endorsement of content, viewpoint, policies, products or services of that organization. Upon following an off-site link, the user is subject to the policies and use standards of that organization and SciencEngines is not liable for any consequences of visiting said third-party site.
